Have you been ordered by a Texas judge or court to complete an alcohol awareness course? If you have been searching for an alcohol awareness program, you have probably been told that you will have to take the course in a classroom in two separate sessions — 3 hours each day. We've got great news for you. Now you might be able to take the DADAP course ONLINE on YOUR schedule instead of sitting in a classroom for 6 hours!

That's right, DADAPOnline.com is the first company to offer the TEA approved Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program (DADAP) on the Internet. This 6-hour alcohol awareness course is approved to be taken by individuals who have been ordered by a Texas judge or court to complete a drug and alcohol education program and have received approval from the court or magistrate to take DADAP in place of an alcohol awareness course. DADAP has been developed by Driver Training Associates, Inc., Texas' traffic safety leader since 1977.

Which Texas law authorizes the use of DADAP in place of a traditional classroom only alcohol awareness or MIP class?

The law that authorizes the use of DADAP for this purpose is §469.007 of the Texas Health & Safety Code, which reads in part, "In addition to using a drug court program established under Section 469.002, the commissioners court of a county or a court may use other drug awareness or drug and alcohol driving awareness programs to treat persons convicted of drug or alcohol related offenses." This law permits Texas judges and magistrates to order a person to complete a DADAP course instead of a standard alcohol awareness class. This is a win-win situation for both judges AND offenders! Since online DADAP is available to any offender in any locale at any time day or night, there is no need to worry about trying to locate an alcohol awareness course, having to drive (or even fly) hundreds of miles to get to the nearest alcohol awareness course, or attempting to schedule an alcohol awareness class when all classes are full.
