Defensive Driving Course Details — This
course is State-approved
Our Texas Defensive Driving Course, also known as
a Driving Safety Course (DSC), driver improvement,
or Texas traffic school, is fully approved by the
Texas Education Agency (TEA) and is 100% online.
A driver who receives a Texas traffic ticket can
take this Texas defensive driving course for the
purpose of ticket dismissal. If a driver takes the
Texas defensive driving course for this purpose,
he or she will be required to complete the six-hour
course and turn in the course completion certificate
to the court before his or her due date.
The Texas defensive driving course can also be taken
voluntarily by a driver in order to obtain a 10%
discount on his or her Texas automobile insurance
premium. (NOTE: a driver who completes
the course for ticket dismissal is also eligible
for this benefit.)
The online Texas defensive driving course uses video,
Flash animations, and interactive exercises to keep
students' attention. The course can be completed
at your pace and you can log in and out of the course
as many times as you wish — we'll keep track
of your course progress.
